NOTE: The Mounts is a tiny village consisting of only eighteen houses, lying on the A381 about a mile to the north-west of East Allington and, because of it's small size, it may not appear on some road maps. Once you are on the A381, stay on the A381 - don't follow signs into East Allington ! Pass through the villages of Brixton, Yealmpton, Modbury and then Aveton Gifford, still on the A379. About 1.3 miles after passing Aveton Gifford, you come to a roundabout. Take the first exit and pass through Churchstow. After Churchstow you come to another roundabout, where you take the first exit towards Totnes. You are now on the A381. At the crossroads, go straight across (beware of unseen traffic from left and right) to stay on the A381. At the next roundabout, take the first exit, and The Mounts is the next village on this road. Tor Cottage is the first building on the left as you come down the hill into The Mounts. |
